Customized Exercise Program:

“If you don't use it, you lose it.”

Would you like to achieve optimal health and wellness? Well then let us start with exercise. Research shows that a sedentary lifestyle contributes to degenerative diseases such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes.  We reach peak bone and muscle mass by age thirty and thereafter, typically lose one percent per year if sedentary. For post-menopausal women, the pace of bone loss generally picks up to two percent annually, causing the “silent disease” of osteoporosis. Weight bearing exercise helps to counteract bone and muscle loss. With exercise our bodies release endorphins – the body’s feel good medicine.  People who exercise regularly have more energy, are more productive, live longer and have a better outlook on life.  They also react better in stressful situations.

A good exercise program will help to develop endurance, strengthen muscles, increase: range of motion, agility, balance and co-ordination.  At Optimal Health Quest, I will help identify goals, assess current fitness level and body composition, create a customized take home program, or provide personal training if desired.  On-going support, motivation, encouragement, accountability and monitoring of results will be provided as needed.

Ultimately, the cells in our bodies are built from the raw materials we eat. The more suitable our food choices are to our specific requirements, the better cell structures we can build. We are all bio-chemically unique, but will all benefit from choosing nourishing, traditional foods that are:

Whole

Organically grown or naturally raised

Living (preferably locally grown)

Fresh foods

These foods will help reduce toxic load, are rich in vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, antioxidants and enzymes which will help enhance their absorption.

 

At Optimal Health Quest a complete nutritional assessment will be conducted.  A food log will be requested.  A customized menu plan or recommended food list will be provided.  Education will be a key component, with optional escorted grocery shopping and/or pantry clean up.  Supplements will be prescribed as needed.
